3D Printing and Rapid Prototyping

Acquired by 3D Systems in 2011, Quickparts provides rapid prototyping services via processes that include SLS, SLA, FDM, Cast Urethane and Injection Molding.

Low-Volume Project Management

As an LV Project Manager, my primary concern was manage a consistent load of about 150 Low-Volume (excluding injection molding) projects. This included:

  • Analyzing customer-submitted STL files for proper buildability, depending on the requested process
  • Guiding the customer on appropriate processes for the parts being built
  • Packaging and submitting the projects for printing
  • Solving for printing and customer service issues

Software Requirement Analyst

At Quickparts, the branding site, eCommerce site and internal order and product management tools were part of the same package, built internally by the Quickparts software development team. My duties were similar to those of a Scrum Product Manager and included:

  • Gathering enhancment requests and bug reports
  • Building requirements for each user story
  • Maintaining the software backlog
  • Overseeing deployments
  • Performing manual and automated QA testing
